Memetic search
From Memography
A memetic search uses globally unique meme IDs entered into search engines to retrieve only those pages on the web that have been manually tagged with the meme ID.
The difference from a normal search is extreme.
Typical searches for keywords today return hundreds of thousands of pages, many of them totally irrelevant.
A search for "Information Retrieval" on Google produces this:
Results 1 - 10 of about 56,300,000 for Information Retrieval
Suppose you have some pages about information retrieval that you want to find quickly. Perhaps "Information Retrieval" is a term/phrase in your corporate taxonomy or controlled vocabulary. Using Memography tools to convert the phrase "Information Retrieval" into a unique meme ID, prefixed by your own memespace name and taxospace name, you can add the meme ID to those pages that you want returned when you search for "Information Retrieval."
A memetic search will return those pages you tagged - only those pages and all of those pages - with near perfect precision and recall, wherever the pages are on the web, and even if they are in your desktop folders, using today's desktop search tools.
