The first registered URN (Uniform Resource Name) was IETF for the Internet Engineering Task Force, in April 1999.

See RFC2648 for detals.

Let's see how this name (and namespace) functions as a memespace.

This namespace consists of the RFC family of documents (RFCs, STDs, FYIs, and BCPs) developed by the IETF and published by the RFC Editor, the minutes of working groups (WG) and birds of a feather (BOF) meetings that occur during IETF conferences, and the Internet Drafts published by the Internet Drafts Editor. Both the current URN framework and URN syntax support this namespace. (from RFC2648).

Since each of these document families has a unique number, we can use the document family name as a taxospace.

Thus we have the Meme ID for the document that defined the IETF URN.

It is simply IETF-RFC-2648. This meme ID on a page declares that the page is about this RFC.

We could also create an aboutness page for this meme here on the memography wiki - IETF-RFC-2648.

All the other document family names are good taxospace names - STD, FYI, etc. for use within the IETF namespace.
